* With the hiring slowdowns and continued layoffs in 2024, competition is now even much more challenging and getting a job at Google requires no less than a perfect interview. With the most recent update, I’ve added tips, tricks and sample answers from recent Google hires to give you that edge. Good luck with your interviews!

Google is a great company to work for, and it receives more than a million applications each year. With the advance of new AI foundation models (OpenAI’s ChatGPT and Google’s Gemini), hiring behaviors and hiring tools undergone a significant shift in interview approaches. With this updated version, increase your chances of getting a recruitment call, impress your interviewers and differentiate yourself from the rest of the applicant pool by investing in the Google Interview Guide created by Googlers.

Thousands of people apply to various positions at Google each month and candidates prepare very diligently for it. With my current and ex-Google colleagues, I created this Google Interview Guide (ebook) that details the whole process including how to get an interview with them and the stages candidates endured during the interviews, complete with the questions you need to study to master your interviews (with answers). I’m constantly updating the guide based on our colleagues’ and new hires’ feedback.

Google Interview Guide – Who is it for?

This Google Interview Guide is relevant to all candidates who are not interviewing for a software developer role at Google (but I’ve also had a lot of customers interviewing for SDE & engineering manager roles who used it for the non-coding part of their interviews). Some of the roles that the Google Interview Questions and Answers Guide is useful for (helped candidates to get offers) are:

– Program / Product / Operation Manager and Leads

– Account Executive, Manager and Associates

– Technical Program/Product Managers

– Marketing and Industry Managers

– Sales Specialists, Enterprise Sales Executives

– Google Cloud Sales / Marketing Roles

2. How do you design X?

3. How many X are in Y? (e.g. tennis balls in a bus)

(tpm role – San Francisco) a friend who got an offer from Google a couple of months back recommended this website and I bought the latest updated version two weeks ago. I must say I’m impressed, interviewing for a tpm role and already helped a lot with impressing the hiring manager 🙂 Recommended!

happy to find out about this. Recent examples and lots of q/a to practice. Passed two video rounds for an ad sales account manager role in SF and feeling confident for the final round. The guide was updated very recently and I got 4-5 questions directly from the guide. Thanks to the creators!

interviewing for a technical account manager role, only the last step is remaining for hopefully an offer. Alex’s guide was my best investment for preparations. The biggest benefit for me is not even the many & multiple types of questions expected in the process with answers from googlers, but the “approach” to all types of questions. That made a big difference. The hiring manager praised me for my thorough preparation as a bonus 🙂 Thanks Alex, much appreciate the effort you put into this, you’re helping a lot!

Helpful guide. Particularly appreciate that the suggested general approach/considerations are provided instead of specific answers to sample questions.

I had high expectations for this and it was even better than I’ve expected. Extremely well written, professional guide. Covers all the aspects of Google interviews and has very good answers to questions – made me change my approach already. Honestly this is like a 300-400 Euros worth of Google interview consultacy with current employees. I am studying it for the last couple of days for a Google cloud customer success lead role and can’t fault it. Feeling pretty positive for the upcoming interviews. I really appreciate your work on putting this tgether.

got an offer for the ops lead role thanks to this. Can’t say much wrong about the guide. Pros: very well written, useful & detailed approaches to many types of questions, it is obvious that a lot of effort was put in it, I’ve got many similar questions in my interviews, behavioral section is quite comprehensive as well, updates are free and frequent. Cons: A bit long, so you’ll have to spend at least 2-3 days to go over the material (but well worth it), slight improvement area: can do a better job of differentiating question types expected for different roles. Overall, highly recommended!
